Middle School students from RCPS+ took part in a mock disaster drill at Virginia Western Community College.
Rising 6th graders visited ROTEC to learn about different careers like culinary arts, automotive, and engineering.
In the medicine class at ROTEC, students got to see how pet therapy dogs help people heal.
In Culinary Arts, students made several recipes that can take try at home.
At the elementary level, the theme the first week was dinosaurs.
The theme the second week was Farm Animals. RCPS+ students at Highland Park Elementary dressed up as characters and read The Three Little Pigs.
The third week was mythical animals. RCPS+ students made their own creations.
The theme the fourth week was the desert. Students at Fairview Elementary made edible ant farms.
Field trips are also a big component of our summer enrichment program. RCPS+ students from Grandin Court visited Mill Mountain Zoo.
Students are also taking field trips to Homestead Creamery in Franklin County where they get to sample ice cream.
